After moving away a year ago, Gulliver's Pizza (deep dish pepperoni!) wins for being in my top 3 favorite Chicago-style pizzas anywhere!

Eh, pizza is ok. Some people rave about it, not sure why. Fairly bland and on the soggy side. If it weren't for the crushed pepper, it would've been like eating paste. Server was great (Jordan).. Girl was on the ball, even though she had a ton of tables. I like her service way more than the pizza so she earned 3 stars for this place (2 stars otherwise). Ate half, took rest to go but I'll pitch it in the parking lot. Didn't want Jordan to feel bad..

I'm happy with what I got from Gulliver's. Ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza for carry-out, so I can't comment on service & the restaurant. Our pepperoni and mushroom pizza was delicious, even when we let it get cold. ~$20 for a large. I'd order here again.

I've eaten at this pizza place several times and it's great! We had my daughters birthday party here last year and again this year because of the food, service and they have a large party room area that you can use. First off their pizza is very good-we alway get the thin crust (not too thin and not too thick). Also, they have a great combo appetizer platter that has fried bacon which was a nice twist and was really good. Lastly, Pricilla was our server and she was great-very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. The manager Jimmy is also nice and very accommodating! So if you're looking for a really good pizza place or place to have a party try them out!

This place is located in our neck of the woods just east of the intersection of Roosevelt and Summit in Oakbrook Terrace. Food quality and drink selection is always good, but the service on the other hand leaves something to be desired. The rating given is reflective of that.

First time here. Im staying at the hotel next door so I decided to come over for karaoke night on Wednesday. I've never seen karaoke before so I was skeptical. This is a lot of fun! I'd say the atmosphere here is awesome! Pizza was off but I just ordered one slice. Very friendly and fun place! Ill definitely make a point to come back when I'm in Chicago.

When I first ate at this Gulliver's, I was disappointed as the pizza was not the same as the Howard Avenue location. However, after eating at the Oakbrook Terrace location last Saturday, I can honestly say that the pizza there is as good as the original location.

Awesome pizza made to order. First time to visit will definitely go back next time I'm in town. The service was very friendly and attentive :) Thank you for a great dining experience.

Decent pizza, decent drinks.. Everything is reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Quick service. Restaurant area is separated from the bar area. Never seen this place overwhelmingly busy, on weekends or during the week. Will keep coming here for a good time

We have been coming here for over a year and go with the kids about once a month for our pizza nights. Great pizza (kids love it), friendly staff, great drink specials and the atmosphere is good. My 7 year old makes sure we go when the "balloon guy" is there. Never had had a bad experience.

This place is AWESOME. My boyfriend and I always go here for an excellent pizza and drinks on date night. The staff is amazing, and it's great to see the same faces. It's comfortable, and we have gotten to know everyone. Always a friendly welcoming, and no matter how busy they are we have never gotten poor service. You won't be disappointed!

Good pizza and appetizers. Friendly and attentive service. Prices are reasonable. One side is the restaurant, other side is the bar area. Dining area, restrooms, bar area are always clean.

Stopped in with three work friends for a few pitchers and a pie. We ordered an XL pan pizza which worked out to 2 slices per person. Very good pan pizza with fresh veggie toppings of mushroom, onion and green peppers . As mentioned by others the sauce is a chunky tomato sauce that is not overpowering and the amount of cheese is just right. I might like the crust at Lou's just a bit more but the Gulliver version is mighty good and you don't walk out as stuffed to the gills. Additionally, they have a nice mix of domestic and crafts on tap. I wish I would have stopped at Gulliver's long ago - nicely done.

Good food, great prices, fantastic staff!. My friends and I tried Gulliver's about 4 years ago for an after work drink, and we have been hooked ever since. Colleen, our server always remembers us, and she fast, efficient and friendly. We love the pizza and other menu items, and the prices can't be beat. You'll love the food, but you'll come back for the wonderful service.

Excellent pizza, love the shrimp pasta dish also! The salads are huge and so delicious! Bar atmosphere is fun and always a great place to gather with friends. Wish they had groupons again though!

Great local pizza spot and wonderful game day drink specials. My wife and I are huge fans. Their famous crust pizza deep dish provides the perfect buttery crunchy crust all around. The Buffalo chicken salad is outstanding and large enough to share. I highly recommend Gullivers and they tend to run a great groupon special... so check it out... we will definately be back!

I like a good pan pizza. Uno's, Due's, Gino's East (the real one), Malanti's are standards by which we judge others. I've ordered from Gulliver's a couple of years ago and it was OK, but tonight I got a pizza that doesn't even compare to frozen. The dough was thick and flavorless. The topping were so skimpy, I practically thought there was no sausage. I have to confess, I ordered from here because of the proximity to my home. Never again. Stick with the above mentioned places. My pizza sucked.

I don't think I have ever given a pizza joint 5 stars. You always find something wrong with it. For example, I love ma and pop shops, so hole in the wall cheap but tasty shops hit my round Asian belly, BUT, the most they will ever get is 4 star due to horrid (or non existent) customer service or cleanliness. Places like pitfire pizza in LA gets a 4 star as well due to their delicious food (but does get boring), fresh salad and amazing customer service, but the downside is parking and price. Gulliver scores a 5 star (for me at least, not sure why it's at 3.5 star) because the customer service was AWESOME. I come from a restaurant business, and they definitely pass my mark. The waiter's name was Brad. On top of that, they were very attentive, did not pressure us in anyway despite his 10 frequent visits to check up on us. Made sure we were comfortable despite everyone except our table were over 50 and Caucasian. Their salad was pretty good, I'd say 8/10 (and yes, my wife only buys groceries from Wholefoods). Their pizza was good as well. Last but not lease, price was very affordable. With 2 beers, 2 drinks, and 4 dishes which fed 4 very hungry people, it was more than enough and came up to $70 ish before tips. p.s. They play hip hop and modern pop music, that was weird but funny as well if you check the environment/customer niche.

I came here for the first time on Monday night. It was me, my kids, and my friend. Pizza was excellent. Server was nice, forgot his name sorry! I would not recommend families with young children going on Mondays around 5:30/6. The dining room was a senior citizen magnet and they were not fond of my young, rambunctious children. Yes I received dirty looks and ssshhhh's but the pizza made up for it!! I will return! P.S. To the Grouponers I have a feeling you are being "discriminated" against because people don't tip properly. I am sure people are tipping off of the discounted amount. You should be tipping off the full amount before discount. That would be the only reason why you would get attitude and sorry to say but most people don't know how to tip, I make a portion of my salary off tips and I see it more often then I would like. People can be so cheap! Ok my rant is over!

"Pricey once you add about 3 toppings.. A medium pan for 21 total! About how good is it?" I thought before i took it home and ate it.. First off for a 12 inch, its heavy, as in, weighs its worth. The pizza itself. Delicious. I can see why the Pan Pizza is 'famous' as it was featured on CLTV's Chicago's best. You have to appreciate the biscuitty nature of the crust around the edges. I uploaded a pic of my green pepper, onion, jalapeno pizza. I will have to bring the family back here for a fresh out the oven experience, or the guys for game night. Either way the dining room is separated nicely from the bar area which has many screens. I will have to add this to both the pizza list, as well as the ' meet up for the game' list.

UPDATE: Their bathrooms look amazing now. Good job Gullivers. Love this! I've been to Gulliver's about 5 or 6 times now--It's pretty great. Love the mix of faces you'll get in a place like this. Depending on the night, the bar is standing room only! I like the variation. Could be slammed, could be empty. It's a 50/50 I'm willing to take! Their pizza is SO good. It's always cooked perfectly for my liking. The thin crust is perfectly crispy. Their pan pizza is well cooked! Only complaint-their bathrooms are typical bar bathrooms. It feels like I'm going to catch my death in there. Thankfully, I'm usually drinking too much when I'm there...so I don't notice unless I'm sober. ;) Oh, and by the way, the servers are great. Unless you're an ass to them. So, consider that when you go.

Okay, this is my first time here even though I've driven past it a dozen or more times. I had some time to kill so I decided to check it out. It's 4:45 pm, so the bar isn't too busy - a few older guys sitting around the bar and a couple of ladies in their 40's sitting at a table near the bar. Spanish music is playing on the juke box - which played the entire time I was in the place. Bartender wasn't very friendly - nor was she observant - even though the bar was empty. I had my menu pushed in front of me waiting to order a fair amount of time - given the lack of customers in the place. I ordered their daily special - a slice of pizza and a drink. I asked if the slices were fresh and the bartender explained that they were pre-cooked. Okay. Fair enough - I decide to try a slice of sausage pizza - after all, I am at a pizza joint. As I'm waiting for my slice, sipping my vodka, listening to Spanish music on the juke box, I notice a guy at the bar go to a table beyond my sight. He comes back with a slice of pizza. What!!! Really, I just ordered a slice. Why did I order a slice when they are giving it away? I decide I can't take the music any longer and ask to have my slice boxed up. I pay for my drink and PIZZA SLICE. After I get my boxed slice - I ask the bartender what the pizza was on the table. She tells me it is complimentary during happy hour. I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I ordered a slice - her response - everyone knows that comes here. Well, obviously not. And you would think - especially given the fact I just ordered a slice you would have told me about the obvious. All I have to say is wow. I ate the slice on my way home. Nothing special. Tasted like a frozen pizza - but then again she already told me it was pre cooked. Maybe when she informed me it was pre cooked she could have also informed me I wouldn't have to wait ten minutes for a slice - all u had to do was walk to the other side of the bar. brilliant bartender. Way to go girl.

Great fresh ingredient pizza! We made two visits as we were staying at the hotel next door. The bartenders we met were both VERY nice, and the local regulars were a riot to hang out with!

DONT get anything other than pizza. I got pasta one time and I got so sick. It was as if it was old pasta. I went back again. Bad choice. I got a ruben my boyfeiend got a pasta dish. We are both so sick, 24 hours after eating. It's not even just throwing up. It's HEART pain too. (And Im healthy) Im am shocked. Great pizza place. Bad everything else place.

Pizza was great! We ended up here because of a Groupon we'd purchased for a large pizza & pitcher of beer for $17. We ordered the pan dish, as their "world famous" for, and we're not let down! I'm more a thin crust type of girl, but this will be a go-to for the next time we're in the mood for pan/deep dish. Also got an order of Calamari. However, did not come with much for the money & was a little too much on the chewy side. Breading was very good though. Service was good at first, until our waitress found out we had the Groupon. Then we seemed to be her last priority & wasn't as friendly either.

After ordering for a 2nd time I have to give the full 5 stars cause their thin crust pizza and pan pizza are both really good especially compared to some of the other choices in my area.

The food and service were good, and the prices reasonable. The restaurant was also very clean. I ordered the nachos supreme appetizer an to my surprise the portion was gigantic, after that I didn't have room for the food :D. I visited on a Monday, they had the 50% off special, this made the experience sweeter. I recommend it if you want to enjoy pizza, beer, and a good sports game.

Sunday August 10, 2014 Not from the area we asked our hosts to show us a Chicago style pizza, stating 25 or so miles from Chicago, they brought us here. We were very excited. 7 of us walked in and were seated right away and promptly attended to. Drinks came quickly. We ordered boneless and regular chicken wings. Since we are from Rochester which is very close to Buffalo, we are alway curious to see how close restaurants in other areas can come to real Buffalo style wings. We are also very tolerant if a restaurant does not do well because wings are an art. These guys did a pretty good job. I eat and only care about the traditional bone-in wing, these were VERY small but tasty and cooked well. We were hungry, perhaps too hungry. We ordered two large "pan" pizzas, one with pepperoni and sausage and the other with tomatoes, spicy sausages and giardiniera. We also ordered a medium stuffed pizza with cheese only. HOLY COW did we get pizza! It was awesome! We have pretty good pizza at home but not like this. Crispy, thick crust with plenty of the toppings we asked for. The spicy sausage and peppers in the giardiniera were far from spicy but the pie was dilish!! The one thing I wish is that the server would have warned us about the volume of food in the 3 pies we ordered. I get they want to sell pizzas, I am a sales guy myself but we ordered 3 pies and left with almost 2!!! $150.00 bill including a few adult beverages to wash the goods down was a little pricy for a Sunday night pizza outing. The atmosphere was complete chaos! Not the wait staff but the groups of parents that use this place to allow their children to run romper-room while they irresponsibly throw 'em back. The manager and wait staff were left to babysit and parent the monsters while they stayed seated oblivious to all! Three separate and unrelated groups of parents, not just one. I was amazed! At one point a toy soared across the dining room and landed right on our table while 2 other unsupervised kids bounced little balls around the room. Overall we had a great experience even two days later as we have made it half way through our left overs! Go to this place!!!

My husband and I had time to kill while his car was serviced at Castle Chevrolet. At the time we went there were not many people there but the service was still slow. We waited to have our order taken and waited for drink refills. We ate the deep dish pizza (sausage). It was delicious! It tasted like Lou Malnati's but wasn't outrageously thick which meant you didn't stuff yourself so easily. There were a lot of TVs so I imagine it's an excellent place to catch a game. I was pleasantly surprised by this place; it's also open late. I wish it was closer to where I live so my husband and I could get here on the days he works late.

Went with my sweetie on a Sunday afternoon and had a early dinner. We both thought the food was great and, judging by the size of my expanding waistline, I am a pretty good judge of all things pizza. My Lady had a burger and, I know most think a burger is a burger is a burger but, it was well seasoned and anything but bland as you would find in most establishments. We both thought the waitress was on her game. Attentive, quick and although busy she was very good. My hats off to her. In all we had a great visit and meal at Gullivers. I would recommend it to my friends!

I usually love this place, but tonight was not a good experience for us. We have always have had a super friendly server but tonight I felt like our server was just annoyed by us. To be fair, I know that servers work really hard for their tips and it is based on the bill...we only ordered water and a pizza.Part of me understands that she wouldn't want to spend a lot of time with us because we are going to be a lower priced ticket, but the place was not busy. It seemed to take a long time for our pizza to come out, but I wasn't so bothered by that seeing that it was the first chance I had to talk to my husband all day. What bothers me is that the pizza was barely hot and the crust was burnt. I mean...burnt. Not to the point that it was worth the hassle of sending back, but enough that the flavor was not what we prefer. I am disappointed, but not enough to not try again. We are going to caulk this up to an "off" night and try again in a few weeks. I really want to give this place 4 stars because usually the food is awesome, but tonight it was not even really that good. :0(

Ok, here we go. Big place, dining room is a good size, but is not designed for good conversation, sound bounces off all the walls & the dining room is quite loud. We were sat promptly & our server Debbie was at our table quickly to take our drink order. Drinks were brought fast, but no water or even asked if we wanted any.....not a deal breaker. Appetizers of Mozzarella Sticks & Calamari were brought within 10 minutes of ordering, they were served hot which is important, mozzarella sticks were good & cooked properly, Calamari was rubbery, but again not a deal breaker. Pizza was brought & was served hot, again this is very important! We had an XL Thin Crust, sausage, pepperoni @ onion, the pizza was very good, crust was crunchy, onions were not over cooked, sauce was excellent. Debbie was very attentive but not over bearing, she was very friendly and took very good care of us. They also have a FREE Appetizer offer after 4 YELP check-ins! Over all, we will be back!

Just went here for the 2nd time and thought the pizza was very tasty..Lou Malnati's deep dish is my absolute favorite, but Gullivers was very good as well. The first time i was here was a few months ago for a UFC fight on a Saturday night, which didn't go very well. They advertised that they would show the fights, and as soon as the fights started, the older guy that i think was the manager..wouldn't put them on the TV's because the Blackhawks game was on. Normally, i would understand since there's a lot of Hawks fans now. But considering the Hawks were up 5-1 and the game was almost over, why would they leave that on?? Almost everyone in the dining room was waiting for the fights to come on, and 1 family was watching hockey. Why would you piss off 30 people to make 4 people happy?? Makes no sense..Also, the manager was kinda rude about the whole situation and just said "YOU NEED TO WAIT". Not very smart considering there's a billion other places i can go and eat pizza. My 2nd time there was just recently and the pizza was awesome and the waitress was pretty friendly. It def looks a lot nicer then the old dive sports bar that was there before.

This place isn't bad. Seems to be occupied by some locals. Something annoys me about mid 40's dudes, hollering at the bartender(by name) to do a birthday shot, all while driving out of there. I mean, I've been there, but at 35-38, not 45! HA but it's all good, ole Heather looked quite annoyed! Had some good specials, but they weren't available on TOGO orders, but I still opted for the special(cheese pizza) and took it back to my room. Place is spacious, inviting and has decent pizza. If you are a fan of the thin crust, I suggest you give it a try, you just might be surprised.

I'd sort of forgotten how much I like Gulliver's pan pizza. It really is quite good. There's a great garlicky sauce, just the right amount of cheese, and the crust is flavorful and not too thick. We've found the pizza delightful enough that we haven't ordered any sandwiches or entrees, but we have tried a few appetizers. The potato skins are crispy and bacony and big, and the nachos are solid. We also tried some kinda chicken goat cheese flauta but it doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore. Wait staff have always been helpful; we've also done carryout which is sometimes a bit pokey, but so it goes. So: pizza. Yummy. Staff: helpful. Gulliver's: good. And there you have it.

First, I must state that I do NOT believe in bashing a business on social media. It is my belief that an individual should try to rectify the problem with the manager and/or owner. I wish that I did NOT have to give this place ANY stars. When I walked in the place with my 16-year-old son, we both realized that people were staring at us. I know that it had to do with our race. I am NOT one to pull the race card at all. If my son was not there to witness the disrespect and discrimination, I would NOT write this review. I am outdone by our experience and hope that this NEVER happens to another customer. The owner is a racist, rude, and disrespectful! The comments that people have made on Yelp about management are TRUE! When I first sat down, I showed the server my certificate from Restaurant.com . To make a long story short, he asked if he could take my phone to show the manager. When he returned, he KINDLY gave me my phone and said that Gulliver's did accept the certificate. It was a $25.00 certificate and we were required to spend a minimum of $50.00. I would have NEVER stopped at this place had I not gotten a certificate from Restaurant's website. Honestly, the food was extremely disgusting. The spinach dip was soupy and had little spinach in the dish. The bread for dipping was extremely greasy/oily. I sent it back immediately. My son did enjoy his buffalo wings. The pizza crust tasted like cardboard and physically made me sick to my stomach. My son and I ordered separate pizzas. He also did not like his pizza. I ate one slice and took the rest home, where I let it hit the bottom of the trash can, where it belonged. When it was time to pay the bill, the server asked could he see my phone again. He took my phone and the owner came back and said, "we no longer do business with Restaurant.com because they are a sham." I explained to him that before I ordered my food that I showed the certificate to my server and he went to have it approved by a manager. The owner went on to say, "You have to pay the full bill because I am going to loose money. The most I can do is take $10.00 off your bill. I tried to sue Restaurant.com because they are misleading and dishonest. The company does not benefit restaurant owners." To make a long story short, what does this have to do with my son and I. The owner was rude, curt, and dismissive. I stood my ground with him because I would NEVER allow anyone to disrespect me. I also know my rights as a consumer. There were other rude and disrespectful comments said by the owner; however, it is not worth discussing and is just negative energy. After the owner walked away, I looked up to see my son looking so horrified and shocked that this man was disrespecting his mom. He knows NEVER to disrespect adults or to intervene when they are talking. The things that my son said to me made me want to cry. He felt disrespected and violated as well. When we got home, he told my husband immediately. In the end, he took the voucher because he knew that he was wrong. The server did apologize for What type of owner does something like this to his or her customers? Moreover, his issue is with Restaurant.com and has nothing to do with consumers.

I thought the pizza was going to be awesome, but it was just "not terrible". Probably wont be back. In response to the restaurant's question, I remember everything on the pizza having no seasonings. It was as if someone forgot to salt or add spices to the whole thing. The crust was pretty soft too.

I came here since I was staying at the hotel right next door. I got in late on a flight and needed to grab a bite to eat and was happy they served late and it was great to have a place to go so convenient. I sat in the bar area where there were many TVs playing March Madness basketball. It took quite a while for the waitress to get to my table - it was fairly busy and she was the only one working the bar area besides the bartender. It took a while to get a drink, but my food was rather prompt. I ordered the mushromn and swiss chicken sandwich and is was very good. My 2 star ranking is strictly for the service - rather slow and not super friendly.

Out of town for business and was searching for some decent pizza....was not disappointed! The thin crust Pizza was outstanding and the garlic bread was by far the best I have had in ages. I had the pizza delivered to my hotel room as I was busy working...and the delivery time was far less than I was told on the phone. I will defiantly order from here next time I am in town.

Yeah! I'm a fan of the pan pizza. It was not greasy and the crust was crispy. This crust is not too thick and not doughy at all. The server was ok. Drink specials not exciting. So great for pick up or just sitting at the bar.

This place was super casual, definitely a dive, but seemed to have a really great vibe to it. They have Blue Moon on tap! That made me happy :). I just went for happy hour, didn't have any of their food, but it seems like a good place. I'll definitely be back.

I have probably driven by this restuarant / bar a hundred times before I discovered it. I had a restuarant.com coupon and I wanted to go here to try something different in the Oakbrook area. I knew I wanted to try the Pan pizza since this is what they are famous for. Im not that crazy about Pan Pizza but it was really good. If you go there with just another person, a small is just perfect. It has less cheese than the average Stuffed, which is less the fat. It looks just like a stuffed pizza with the sauce and tomatoes on top. If you are like me and driven by this place many times and have never gone in. Try it. You don't even have to dine in, you can order the pizza and do carry out.

Ok so I'm giving it 2 stars because I had a rough first expirience here. But I want to preface this review by saying I am willing to go back and update this at a later date. So with that being said here we go... I went here a couple of weeks ago to see the UFC fights with one of my friends. She's a big UFC fan, and I am not, but I know Gullivers is a UFC bar because I always see those signs when I go to get gas. Plus I had seen this place on Chicago's Best and I had been wanting to go there anyway. So we went. When we walked in and the place def had that sports bar feel. There was a family dining area to one side but the middle part was a huge bar with big screens everywhere a big tall tables lining the edges. We weren't greeted by anyone and there was no sign that said seat yourself. We hung out at the front for a few minutes waiting to see if someone would greet us but that didn't happen. We tried to get a table but the were all filled or reserved so we sat at the bar. The bar is situated right in front of the door so everytime someone walked in we were accosted by this cold winter air. It was pretty miserable. The specials were visible and clear so we ordered a couple of beers and some apps. The food at this place is the bomb dot com. We had potato skins that were huge! I only had half of one and I was satisfied. Then when our pizza came.....LORD HAVE MERCY! Lou Malnatti's who?! As someone from Chicago I don't usually get worked up over deep dish pizza, but this ish right here....FYE!!! You have to try it. I mean great sauce, buttery crust, flavorful meat, ooie gooey cheese. What else do you need in LIFE?! Nothing is the answer. But no matter how good the food poor service will spoil my night every time.... So I guess the bartenders friends came half way through the night. Once they came we became non exsistent. I wanted to drink more but the terrible service we recieved just turned me off. And we were at the bar!! There should have been no delay in getting drinks, water, nothing. But there was. And there was a Hawks game going on too. So really this bar needs to decide what is more important. UFC fights or Hawks games. Personally I'd perfer the Hawks but I was there with my friend, and I would have liked to see how the big fight ended, but we couldn't because the channel was changed to see the end of the Hawks game and to hear that awful Hawks theme song. After that we left but it took our bartender 10 minutes to notice us standing up with our coats on. We literally had to flail our arms around to get her to run us our tab. I seriously considered walking out but I want to come back for more pizza eventually. Then she dropped my credit card and looked at me like I was the dummy because she didn't notice even though I tried to tell her. And if this wasn't the worse the ladies bathroom smelled like rotten crotch. So all in all I'd say this bar should decide what it wants to be, work on greeting the customers, don't let your bartenders socialize the whole night to the determent of your customers, and clean the bathrooms. I will be back, but I wasn't happy with my first visit and I know I'll never be able to get my friend to come back here. Better Luck next time.

I've always had a great time here. The pizza was great, the servers were always friendly, and a few times we were there, there was a magician type man that would do magic tricks and make balloon animals for the kids. I also loved that it's dining room is completely separate from the bar. So I figured this would be the perfect place to host a small get together for my son's birthday. After days of phone tag to trying to cordinate times we wanted versus the other parties they had booked, we booked for Sunday at 6 pm. My husband called a few days later just to confirm and they said that they see our name on the paper, but unfortunately booked another party at that time slot. So with 2 weeks before the party, and having hand made all the invitations inviting our friends and family to go to gullivers, I now get to scramble to find another place to have my son's birthday. This has turned into such a head ache. I'm really surprised and disappointed in their lack of communication and their poor customer service.

Let's get it out of the way: The service is not so good. The "hostesses" sit up there and don't say a thing to you until you address them. Whatever, management should work on that. The pizza is excellent. Order it for delivery or sit in the bar.

Great place to meet up with fellow sport fans of all types to sit in the bar area to watch one (or all) 27 TV's. Bar is separate from the dining area which also has TV's in it to watch while you dine. Great menu, many weekly specials to choose from. A MUST try is the PIZZA!! My personal favorite is the thin crust. My second is the thin pan pizza. But, you must also try the deep dish pan pizza which is also great! Bar has full menu to choose from also. Over all I highly recommend Gulliver's!! Who knows maybe I'll see you there to share in on that high five!!

Looking for a new pizza place. Heard some good things and the place is usually busy so I thought I'd give it a try! Ordered a med pan for carry out. Pricey but hoped it would be worth it. Sauce makes the pizza and this tasted like tomato sauce from a can. On top of which the crust was soggy. Ate one slice and threw it out! Never going back!

Great Pizza and great clean place. The owner is awesome and his staff is very cordial . The location you cant beat and well the food is just top notch pizza hard to beat .. Love Our Gullivers ..

We tried this place using a Groupon for carryout. We had a large sausage and mushroom pan pizza. It was lacking in cheese, was a bit dry, on the thin side and overly crusty. Guess we weren't too impressed.

Wow after 3rd time you'd think I'd learn. I just walked out of Gullivers 10 mins after walking in. And that's because I spent 5 mins in bathroom. I ordered a Guinness from greek chick behind bar, she started pouring, then cut flow back by half. As the pint got more than half full I told her to cut it and let it settle. She cut the flow then turned away to the other side of bar. I gor a very rude impression. This happened to me last year as well. Then bartender filled pint like a regular beer then kept pouring off foam like a miller lite. I had a similar experience earlier last year. WTF if youre going to have a nitrogen pour, spend a minute showing them how to use it. Why do I keep going back you ask? The food is pretty good and prices reasonable. Plus today half price appetizers! They lost out on proly a $30 check and a $6-7 tip tonite. Too bad. Im at Mannys Ale House now.

I think this place would give Bar Rescue a run for it's money. As stated in some of the previous posts, even though there's a hostess, she is way more interested in talking on her phone and to the other employees than doing her job. The service was very slow. Granted, our server Alicia, was the only one on the floor at first besides the bartender but she was more attentive to the "all guys" tables versus two gals with a Groupon. Can you say Groupon discrimination?! We started off with drinks. I always order a flavored vodka and water in a tall glass. My friend ordered the same. Our salads were mediocre at best but my friend enjoyed the homemade Caesar dressing. My friend had just finished her 2nd drink and Alicia took it upon herself to bring another drink without even asking. So she goes from slow service to being a mind reader. Very talented! Here's the kicker. We get our bill and notice an additional $1.00 for our drinks that say tall. WTH?! There was no additional alcohol. THEN! We notice an 18% gratuity charge for just 2 people at a table. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Her substandard service was not worthy of 18%. My friends and I firmly believe in tipping 20% or more for outstanding service but to just automatically assume a server is worth 18% is just crazy talk. Gulliver's and your employees, get over your selves. You are not in the high rent district of Oakbrook. You're in Oakbrook Terrace, in the shoddy end of town. This place has been scratched from my list of places to return.

My husband and I have gone here to watch multiple football games. We never had major complaints....... Until today. We were told to seat ourselves by the employee working the counter who was clearly more interested in her phone conversation than doing her job. We literally sat there for 2 hours without any attention from the waitstaff. By the end of the experience my husband and I were joking about how laughable it was that we were ignored for so long. So, basically go here if you want to be ignored and watch NFL.....

The pizza is always amazing here! Its the perfect texture of a consistent crust, but crumbles in your mouth like a cookie. The food is always savory, buttery and grade A (and of course fatting), but I can't say the same thing about the service. When you walk into the place it has a bar feel to it, dark, dimmed and dreary with loud antisocial people that seems to be into themseleves while watching sports instead of working. Its always crowded during the lunch hour with business people getting drunk and watching the game before heading off to there job. In any case...usually when I make a to go order the waitress is station near the front entrance to check me out, but the last time I went there no one was near by. There wasn't a sign, or a bell or anything, just me standing there looking stupid and confuse. So I ended up calling the place inside the place to alert them that I was near the front entrance waiting to be check out. The waitress signals me over to the bar and proceeded to tell me that I should of known to come over to the bar (as she rolls her eyes). Then she snatch my credit card out of my hand and then ignore me for the rest of the time while talking to her bar friends. Wow!! Really!? Anyways I don't think I'm going to be coming back here anytime soon. I'll just stick with my frozen pizza for awhile.

Love, love, love Gulliver's!!! I am a Chicago native, so I am not super excited about deep dish/pan pizza except for a few places. This is at the top of the list. I am ruined for almost anywhere else. The crust is a buttery, corn meal style. Similar to Malnatti's, but waaaaayyyyyy better. They always make the pizza just a little well done which I love and usually have to request at most places. The sauce is delicious, not too sweet but really flavorful. It is all around heaven on a plate. I could eat here multiple times a week and be happy. To be fair I have never really had any of their other food besides pizza. We have had their boneless wings which are really good, and I have had their ministrone also good. Their house salad is eh. Lots of iceburg lettuce which I am not a fan of. Mainly though, we only go their for pizza and drinks. The drinks are standard. I usually get gin and tonic and they are not stingy with their pours, which is nice. Their beer list could be a little more interesting, but for the sports bar/family dining type of place I would not be expecting much beyond the Lite/Bud options. At least they usually have a Sam Adams seasonal on tap, which satisfies my husband who is a micro snob. As to the service, we have not ever had a "bad" experience. Slow, yes. Most times we go is during the week and we always sit in the dining room, so even if a game is on and the bar is busy the dining room is typically not. In fact we were there once where we were the only table and our server still seemed to be MIA for the bulk of the time. They are always friendly though, and we have never had to wait for a table.

  • Amanda H.

The food was actually very good. It would have been nice if our pizza was hot, but that's to be expected when the service sucked. I'm sure our pizza was sitting in the kitchen for several minutes before coming out to our table. We had to ask for our waiter every time we wanted drink refills, which is slightly irritating especially since the restaurant was fairly slow. The place was clean and the decor was simple and modern. We went for dinner on a Friday around 8ish and it looked like they were going to close any minute. I was quite surprised it was clearing out, however it did look like they had a dinner crowd. It's too far for us to go for pizza with bad service. It's a shame b/c the food was excellent.

I've been coming here since before it was Gullivers OBT, but since it became "Gullivers Oak Brook Terrace", the menu and food have been great. The pizza is some of the best around. I prefer the thin but I also like the pan as well. The staff and management are excellent and it's a great place to eat, hang out and/or watch games and socialize. Plenty of TVs, friendly people and great service.

My husband and I really like this place. It's a great sports bar, with good food. We've tried the thin and deep crust pizza and both are great. Their deep dish is not my favorite of all time but it's definitely decent. Sometimes the server seems a little inattentive but they usually redeem themselves in some way. Quit reading this and go get some pizza!

Some really great Pan Pizza. Their pan pizza is one of my favorites it has a great sauce combined with a flaky crust that has some crunch to it. Great place to watch sports as well, Has enough TV's to watch multiple ball games or tournaments.

Gulliver's is good food, served with a smile, in a nice atmosphere. Why no higher than 3 stars? I'm from the Far South Side and we are surrounded by superlative pizza places, so in comparison I have to give it 3 stars. The breaded crust is delicious and really filling, but it's not something I'd eat every week. The thin crust pizzas are good, not great; the appetizers are tasty. This is a fun place for a party, which is why I went all the way out to Gulliver's. If I am there again and order something besides the piza, I may revise my review. They really could have done much more with the theme. Maybe they could hire a lot of midgets as waitstaff, although my friend pointed out that it would be more cost-effective to hire one giant. (Yeah, I know "midget" is un-pc, but you get my drift.) The bathrooms need an update, but they're clean. This is a kid-friendly restaurant.

I've been coming here since the place was a Howard Johnson's in the early '60's. Roosevelt Road was a two lane road to farm stands and honky tonks. You will notice Gulliver's is closer to the road than any other establishment. That is because the front used to be a parking lot. Roosevelt Road widening in the 70's decapitated the lot, but loads of parking in the rear. A truly fine incarnation in my memory was The Ground Round, but back then I was in college then and the Ground Round, with peanut shells on the floor, was as cool as us college boys were stupid. Then Champs, then Rival's, and now Gulliver's. If you want to dig a little you will find the owner of these to all be the same guy. Pretty smart guy too, who is like a father to many, and who is almost impossible to get to know. He is the inventor of Gulliver's on Howard, so transplants will find the ambiance radically different, but the food the same. The reason the ambiance is the way it is is simple. When the conversion to Gulliver's was made there was no real budget to redo the place. What what you get is Champs, rebadged as Rivals (after being successfully sued by Chammp's - bastards), and now monikered Gulliver's. A hamburger at the old Champ's is the same as Gulliver's today. Which is to say magnificent. The bar is a good time, and was my regular boozing place for many years. The former manager, Mark, was great people. Taken from us at only 35. May he rest in the perpetual light. Times change. Usually for the good. Gulliver's is the best iteration yet. I am not a big pizza eater, but I find the menu to be good enough to satisfy anyone. The ice cream and cookie desert is killer good. The "new" management is in touch and in tune with the customers I live in Long Beach, CA now and come back to Chicago several times a year. I stay at the Comfort Suites next door simply because of the easy access to Gulliver's even in the worst Chicago weather. The reviews here are interesting and generally spot on. But this place has history and I wanted to impart this is no fly by night. It's been tested by time. Time lost, and we won. NOTE: Come on by and ask to see their dog Spot, aka "the amazing talking dog of pizza." listed just this past April 1st as the 5th wonder of the pet world. Ask for Pizza and Spot will say: "Haaaamburrrrrrgerrrr."

Both the thin and thick are good pizza's bordering on excellent. You can almost always find a coupon but beware the fine print on a Groupon. Good service. They're doing a good job with this restaurant as evidenced by the parking lot!

This is my current after work spot. It's not spectacularly cheap, nor is the food amazing, or the beer selection interesting, but it's the cleanest townie bar within 20 minutes.

I think that I like this place better than it's previous establishment.. but I'm still not really the biggest fan. I decided to check out their Karaoke night and was kinda bummed out on it. My friends and I love the DJ, Quinn, we will go any place he's doing the Karaoke but.. the people in Gulliver's kinda ruined the experience for us. The place was filled with ignorant, loud people, and no one clapped after someone would sing. We started to just really feel like maybe we didn't fit in?? Also- Pizza.. is really good! But, the rest of the food, is not soo good. And our service sucked too. We had to wait forever for silverware, which we asked for twice, and by the time we got it.. our food was cold. Then we realized she never brought a condiment we asked for but didn't want to ask again, because we knew she'd just forget. I don't know what to say about this place really, but I'm not a fan. I'd probably get a pizza to go if I was every to crave it again..

Loved this place already and then heard that the pizza was amazing, so I had to get my delivery on on Sunday night. We ordered the pan pizza, one with jalapeno and ground beef and one with pepperoni. Oh, and some tater tots...YUM! The pizza was AMAZING!! The crust was just the right about of crunch and greasy crunchy if that makes sense to you...it does to me. It was SO fresh tasting and the cheese was so stringy and gooey...MMMMM!!! The tater tots were a little on the soggy side but still tasted delicious! I cannot wait to order some more pan pizza...maybe next time I will head in to get some pan, nachos and a little blue moon (extra orange) on the side. Now that sounds orgasmic!! *Special shout out to my girl Beth Mamo for turning my fat ass on to some bomb ass pan pizza!! =]

Gulliver's is one of my recent favorites for pizza! The first several times I was here, I really enjoyed the deep dish and assorted appetizers and salads. Then recently the boyfriend and I weren't in the mood for deep dish but decided that we'd give the thin crust a try. Amazing! Now I like that even better than the pizza in the pan! Another perk is the awesome balloon guy that comes (only on Fridays, I think.) He makes THE BEST balloon animals I've ever seen and I'm always really jealous of the little kids that get to take home a Spider-man or a penguin. Definitely give Gulliver's a try if you're in the area. Now if only I could convince them to deliver to Oak Park...

Won't be back, ever. Started off bad and ended bad. No staff to seat us. We sat down ourselves after several minutes. Place had a really bad stinky smell. Washroom was disgusting. Pizza came out raw... Not a good thing when you've got raw sausage in your pizza.

Great pan pizza, cold beer on tap, what's not to love? Overall we had a good experience at Gulliver's. I really like how the restaurant and sports bar are divided. If you feel like grabbing a few drinks, watching a game or playing pool you can sit in the bar..... feeling a little more low key, sit in the restaurant. We chose to sit in the bar. Service was OK, pizza was great. Save your calories and skip the mozzarella sticks. (Obviously I had consumed a few Blue Moon's so I thought those would be a good idea, eh, not so much.) Anyway, it's a good local spot and I plan on coming back!

I have been to Gulliver's 6 or 8 times and each time I have had their thin crust pizza, which is the best pizza in this area. It is always cheesy, cooked perfectly and very tasty. I have not had any other items on their menu, because every time I go there I remember how good the pizza is and that is what I end up ordering. I did see a plate of nachos on another table, though, and it looked really good. This is definitely the place to go for pizza.

I want to give this Gulliver's a 5 star rating for our dining experience today. We preordered our pizza over the phone before we arrived because there would be 7 of us dining in with 2 elderly people and we wanted to minimize the wait time. Our party was handled perfectly. Several people ordered salads when they arrived. Everyone liked them. The pizzas were brought out shortly after. We ordered a thin crust, large cheese and mild sausage and a thin crust, large cheese only. Very good. Our drinks were refilled mid-way through the meal and our bill was brought out in a timely manner. Very good, Gulliver's. Thank you.

They have one of the best pizza's in the area. We especially enjoy the spicy sausage pizza which has an excellent taste. We have only eaten in the restaurant once and in that case my wife ordered a mushroom burger which she said was very good. My selection was the buffalo chicken sandwich which I thought was good but it should have had more sauce with a little more spice. You get a cjoice of sides. My seasoned fries were good, and my wife's onion rings were superb. Service was kind of slow and I thought the orders took longer than expected but the wait was worth it. Seems the lights should be dimmed a bit.

Apparently you have to be a dude to find stellar service here. 2 women with a Groupon on the table, well, you might as well take it to go. ;) To be fair, I only had a salad, which was, meh, a salad. I will give them props for a fab ceasar dressing! I think the menu mentioned homemade?? It was great, hence 2 stars. In any event, back to the matter at hand, the shitty service. Granted, Alicia was busy, I mean BUSY. She might have been one of only two barmaids in the room. Anyways, it wasn't so much her service throughout the evening that was bad, it was actually fairly consistent. However, she brought a 3rd cocktail to me that I didn't order?? And when I asked her about it she said "oh, I know, I thought you looked like you were ready?" WTH? Ok, so, now we get to the bill...we notice a $1 up-charge on all cocktails. THEN I notice an 18% gratuity. What, for 2 of us? SO, we asked about both...first, she actually wanted to argue with me about what a "tall" drink meant. I know Alicia, there are barkeeps and people all over the country that believe a tall should be an extra-large version of a cocktail. No. A tall SHOULD be a cocktail poured in a tall glass with extra mixer. This is directly from goodcocktails.com : "Tall means in a bigger glass. If you order a tall drink, you get the same amount of liquor, but with more juice or soda." So, maybe the owner/manager can print this for his bar staff. If you're charging me for extra mixer, that's one thing, maybe not right (my friend was ordering her vodka with straight water! I had soda water!), but whatev's. Ok, now onto the gratuity...she claimed it was due to the Groupon. This stipulation, for the record, is NOT on the Groupon. Nice way to give it to someone thru the back door. I see...so, for those that try out your business, you stick it to them?? I've actually been here once before and have heard good things about the pizza. This was my friends first visit. Nice way to attract business. Well, I can tell you and anyone that knows me will vouch for this, I OVER tip, grossly most times, as I believe it's all about the karma baby! I just tipped our server at Cab's last week $20 on a $36 bill. Plunk. But I was SO offended by not only this establishment assuming I would not tip 1.) appropriately and 2.) on the full amount, that Alicia didn't get an extra dime out of us. Plus, her surly attitude about what constituted a "tall" drink and then the tip, ugh, laters for reals. That was one crisp $20 staying firmly planted in my wallet. Besides, the owner/manager just walked around all night, not speaking to guests. Hospitality 101 dude, smile and say hi to your guests. I will NEVER return. Gulliver's can get over themselves.

My friends told me about Gulliver's pizza and decided to try it out. I'm a sucker for traditional, Chicago style pizza. There is another Gullivers on the north side of Chicago. They've been making Chicago style deep dish pizza for over 40 years, so they're doing something right. They have about 100 reviews and a 4-star rating: yelp.com/biz/gullivers-p… Gullivers signature pizza is their pan. I recommend the "thin" pan. It's similar to Lou Malnatti's, but I like Gulliver's crust better. They do not put corn meal (Yuk!) in their crust, like Lou's. It's buttery, crunchy and light. In the Chicago tradition: crust, cheese and the sauce on top. The real test was breakfast the next morning. I ate a cold piece, out of the fridge. Delicious. Then I heated one one in the oven. Equally delisch. I really like Gullivers' for the area. It's about a 5 minute drive from the Champps, PF Changs, Grotto type of places. Gullivers' has a neighborhood feel and a nice patio. You get the drink specials and all that good stuff and its got a full menu beyond the pizzas. As far as ambiance, I would compare it to a Moretti's....but better pizza. I watched the Bears play Green Bay there and there was only one Packer fan. We made him wear a funny hat and buy us drinks all night. It's a great place to watch a game. There are about 100 plasma TVs in the place. Maybe a little overkill?

Love the pan pizza! Fresh ingredients. Order an appetizer while you wait. I love the spinach & artichoke dip, and the bruschetta - both are served with fried pita wedges. Took a friend there - a month later, we went again and she had taken her family there twice already! It's my new favorite lunch spot.

I've been here about a dozen times since it's been Gulliver's and the bar is a solid place to hang out. (I've never eaten in the restaurant portion because the bar area is huge.) Always friendly service, usually some decent beer specials, and better than adequate food. They have really good soup, OK salads, and a surprisingly good selection of appetizers. Yes, there are nachos and wings, but there are also roasted portabellas and goat cheese and chicken flautas. Yum! I don't really like their burgers, but that's because I've turned into kind of a burger snob and now I turn my nose up at pre-formed, frozen patties. But that's my problem, not yours. The atmosphere is neutral - a little bit of everyone - so it's a comfortable place to spend a couple hours. They do crank up the volume to a ridiculously high level during certain games (which is especially unnecessary given that no seat in the bar is more than 6 feet away from a large flat-screen TV), but hey, it is a sports bar, so I can't really complain.

Tonight we went to watch the game and have something to eat we ended up ordering a pizza and waited over forty minutes. Well when it finally came it was so burned personally I would not have served it but obviously the waitress being so young did not have a clue so when I commented on how burned it was her response was to get a manager so when the manager came to our table he was obviously annoyed by the fact he had to stop watching the game and leave his drink to see what the problem was he asked me what was wrong so I let go of my pizza slice and it nearly broke the plate his response was he didn't need the animation so I said really that is how you serve pizza here he didn't want to deal with us and was so rude and I then said we will not be back and the manager said good. I then asked is that why during a Blackhawks playoff game the place was empty and he then said who cares WOW I'm surprised this place is still in business

I've been to the Gulliver's on Howard a handful of times and always walked away happy. I was nervous after reading some of the reviews for this location, but I'm happy to report the same post-meal bliss. Fair warning to anyone who's a Howard-defector, this place feels like a sports bar - no kitschy overly-decorated walls - but they do a great job of keeping the bar and the main dining area separate, and as others have mentioned, they are extremely generous on table spacing. With this being the busiest bar night of the year (day before Thanksgiving), they had the beer troughs ready to go and drink specials advertised everywhere, but thankfully our 6:30pm reservation was too early to get mixed up in the party that was sure to come. By 7pm almost every table was occupied, so make your reservations or get there early. This pizza is so good, it makes me cry a little inside knowing that I can't eat it every day. Gino's has always been my numero uno but the toppings at Gulliver's are beyond fresh, it's giving Gino's a run for it's money IMO. The crust is delicious and just a bit crispy, and the sauce is awsome. It's not cheap - $16.50 for a 14", plus $2 for every topping ($1 if it's only on one side) - but it's incredible pizza, definitely worth the $25 ours ended up being. (What can I say, my family likes our toppings.) Our server, Oana, was nearly stellar. She got our order correct, was pleasant and quick, served the pizza like a pro, brought extra napkins when we requested (with the salad) and again without us needing to request it (with the pizza). My only complaint is that while she did check in after we started eating to see if we needed anything, she then disappeared for 20 minutes - so she was great on the soda refills before the pizza arrived but a little too lax once it came.

Sweet bar. It's a bar with pretty decent food. I actually ordered a stuffed pizza and it was damn good! I was pleasantly surprised. Drinks are decent prices. TV's abound in the bar area. I saw pool tables but not sure what else is in the back. Different days of the week mean different events. Tuesdays happen to be trivia night and Wednesdays were Karaoke. So there's usually something to do. Place is right next to my hotel (Comfort Suites) so it's a perfect getaway on business trips. Usually a good crowd during the week. Can't vouch for the weekend. If you're looking for a cool place to hang your hat for a spell, try out Gulliver's.

Discovered this gem a few months ago. Love the pan pizza! I'm not a fan of overly cheesy or overly breaded pizza..the pan pizza here hits it right on the head!! Delish!! Have enjoyed the family entertainer on Friday night with pitchers of beer and pizza and feel Gulliver's is a great place to come to! Overall...thumbs up!

Service is ok, but the pan pizza is the best around! Very fresh toppings!!

We stopped going to Gulliver's due to multiple bad service experiences. We were back last night for one last try. Service was good, but only the bar was busy. The pizza is one of the best in the 'burbs, and we had potato skins that were very good. I did notice, as someone else commented, a hostess sitting at the desk on her smart phone the whole night. This is a big pet peeve of mine and don't know how a an owner/operator would allow this. Maybe she was family or something. All in all, we will be back. Several TVs to watch the Hawks game, great food, and average service. Two out of three aint bad.

Wanted to place an order for delivery. Called twice, the phone just kept ringing and ringing. This was on a Wednesday, a little after 6. This would be a one star review but their food is pretty good.

We ordered here for the first time last night, based on everyone's high ratings and the Chicago's Best TV show. While the taste was good, (but Malnati's is far superior) the amount of ingredients was so minor for the extra price we were charged. ($2.25 for each ingredient). There was hardly any ingreadients on the pizza with only one bite of sausage. For that reason I am out. Malnati's is better and a better value.

I used to love Gullivers strictly for it's potato skins but we recently ordered delivery and it washorrible. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get there - what delivery places quote an hour anymore anyway?! Then after it got there late the fries were soggy, the sour cream was frozen, and the potato skins were cold. I'm sorry but who can wait that long for cold food anymore anyway? When they add more delivery drives that can get to my place faster (we're only a 5 minute drive) then I'll debate ordering again. Too bad.

Definitely a great family place. Tables are spaced out and it's loud enough that kids aren't a distraction to everyone else (yet it's not super loud). We were most recently there at 7pm on a Saturday night and our area of the dining room was filled with families. The appetizers, salads, and pizzas are great, and every time we've been there the service has been top notch - very friendly and very attentive. If you like the carmelized cornmeal crust style deep pan pizza, you've got to try Gullivers. My one and only complaint is that there is less cheese than I would like, but, I like a lot of cheese so that's more me than it is them! (and you can order extra cheese). This location is COMPLETELY different than the original one on the north side - as other reviewers have mentioned, it's much more a sports bar atmosphere. But it's comfortable and bright, and very spacious.

Tried Gulliver's again the other night and stuck to the pizza. The traditional thin crust kind was pretty tasty, though still not the pizza I'm looking for. Still, it beat out the horrible experience I had here the last time.

Been here three times, the last for my life partner/main filly of the herd's b-day party. More about that later. Good thin crust, generally good service, and not horrible selection of beer for the 'burbs. It's like half a mile from where I toil for the man, so it is convenient in that sense. Now at the woman's b-day our waiter flubbed the order by bring pan pizza instead of thin crust, and then proceeded to argue with us (one of my friends was all up in his bid-nes saying "he clearly said thin crust I was RIGHT HERE" love her) but after we asked for the manager, Mr. manager saved the rep of the place, he was very contrite and handled the situation well. I would go back, and just avoid the server we had before. I will ask to have my order read back to me when I do return.

From the outside, this place looks like a dump. The inside, however, is actually quite nice. They have Chicago-style deep dish pizza, and a decent beer selection. I didn't find the pizza to be spectacular, but certainly good. Also, TV's litter the walls. If you want a sports bar with good food in Villa Park, this place is a one of the few options. Also, I love how they have quotes around "Fresh" Ingredients on the menu.

We saw this place on Chicago's Best TV a while back and decided to check it out. The deep dish pizza is very good, I find the sauce to be like Lou Malnati's but the crust at Gulliver's was better. What stole the show though was the excellent chicken quesadilla appetizer.

The pan pizza was very good. Less greasy than I expected and really crispy crust. Would have liked a little more sauce, but the toppings were really good. A small was enough for my boyfriend and me. Even had some to take home. I would go back for pizza. Lots of kids beware.

The place was fairly dead when my boyfriend and I went in (about 4:30- I was starving and insisted we eat early). We had a living social deal for a pitcher of beer and a large pan pizza. We ordered a pitcher of coors which was SO flat it was unbearable to drink. We requested a new pitcher of bud light. Which was also flat- I just didn't want to be a pain- or put our food order in jeopardy- if I requested ANOTHER pitcher. Aside from the flat beer, the pizza was absolutely spectacular. Pan pizza with pepperoni. Cooked to perfection. I'd definitely return for the pizza.

Did my "Greg Rini Show" for a person suffering from cancer and took a pizza home after the show. I ordered a thin crust, Italian beef, green peppers and hot peppers and it was THE BEST! Wow! Not close to my home in Bloomingdale but I WILL be going again! Great staff as well! REALLY good pizza!

OK, this is hard. We have been to Gullivers 3 times with a group of 4 or larger. Every time, the same experience. The good: Food is really good. The goat cheese chicken flautas, OMG! Calamari is tops, sandwiches and pizza are all good. Really enjoyed almost everything on the menu we have tried. The bad: Service. OK, it isn't really bad, it's horrible. That is unless you sit outside, then it is slightly worse than horrible. The food is so good it is almost worth waiting a half hour for a drink. Then drinking the wrong one when it comes waiting again for half the order then waiting for your friends drinks and so on. All in all, if you are having a relaxing evening and don't mind waiting for everything, then this is an awesome hangout. If your in a hurry or demand service, well, this ain't for you.

I guess my expectations weren't that high going in here for some reason. It's overall not a spectacular looking place. But wow that pizza knocked me over. We ordered the pan, or the deep dish or whatever they call it and it was pretty fantastic. It was covered in just the right amount of flavorful sauce that was just the right chunky consistency, the cheese was gooey and delicious, but not the kind that stretches and refuses to break or gets caught in your throat, and the crust was substantial without being a monotonous distraction from the rest of the pizza. A good combination of crispy and doughy. We also ordered potato skins (yeah, not our healthiest meal, but we've been otherwise really good this week) and usually potato skins are just... whatever, but these were surprisingly good. The potato was actually crispy keeping the whole thing from being a flimsy mess. The cheese on them was really tasty and they used real bacon, so all in all, a nice terrible for you appetizer. So yeah, it's not much to look at, but the food is definitely better sports bar fare, plus the excellent pizza. And the service is solid, so I definitely intend to go back and see what other gut twisting delights they have.

Ate there last week while working in the area and thought the food (chicken sandwich) was fair. They had some kind of Trivia thing in the damn bar that gave me a headache so we move to the family side.

I like Gulliver's. Funny...I've never tried the pizza! However, I've sampled several menu items and was pleased each time. The burgers are good. Lots of sports on the many televisions. I've had terrific service every time.

Good Pizza (I recommend the deep dish) with sauce that wasn't super chunky but you could see it had tomatoes in it (a plus for me), and the prices were pretty good. I haven't gone in to the bar on a swinging saturday or friday, but when I went on a wednesday for karaoke, it seemed like word hadn't gotten to the locals yet. I wouldn't say it's a bad place to go on wed because #1 the drinks are affordable with a decent selection #2 (and most important) my main man, QUINN, does the Karaoke there (see my review for Sal's. Quinn or "Q" M.C.'s karaoke 3xweek there). This place needs a few brave souls to take over and tell there friends, and I think this clean watering hole has a ton of "hangability" potential. That's all I have to say about that.

I went here for my 21st bday and it was a lot of fun. There Karoke started right on schedule and he was very fair at getting people in to sing, (even after they became a little tipsy). The dj didnt have the greatest selection of songs I've ever seen and he didnt have books, but I dont think that was the resturants fault. The drinks were yummy and decently prieced for a bar. I didnt eat the food but it all smelled good. They were open late and the server came over twice to tell us last call to make sure if we wanted anything we got it. The server was friendly and sudjested drinks when we weren't sure and even got me a soda when one of my friends didnt feel well. My only complaint is that the tables were not spaced well and it was a little dark. but if thats the worse I can say, this place is alright with me!

Gullivers Pizza and Pub is alright by me. Pizza is tasty, wings and Spinach Dip-outstanding. During early hours place is great for Family or a Pizza party. Evenings into night, the bar has drink specials and top shelf liquors. Great Top shelf Martini's. Bar has 16 Large screen TVs, pool table, Golf machine and other games. Smoking outside in bar garden area. On Thursday nights they have bar Trivia. On Weds, is Karaoke hosted by a great guy named Quin. Pint glasses of LaBatts blue is $2.50 on Weds. Just a fun time-great for groups, or business parties. I would say go with a group and have a great time. (:

Went on Friday 6/10/11, took my daughter and 3 of her friends to celebrate the end of school year, YEAH, welcome summer break. We had a good time! The food was tasty, plenty portions, and the best part was the Balloon Artist. It really made the whole experience (4 kids age 7-10). The guy came over, presented the menu of what was available, he even asked the girls what their fav. color was and he put a smile on their faces and mine too. I initially went because I had a Groupon discount, BUT, I will go back again. It was fun, not too expensive. We got a pitcher of soda, a combo appetizer tray, and a XL sausage pizza and it was I just under $45 (before the Groupon discount) Friendly atomsphere, kid friendly, lots of tv's for the "guy folk" who don't want to miss a game. And a seperate bar area, if you want to have a cold one without drinking in front of the kiddies.

Terrible. In nearly every aspect....TERRIBLE. Saw this place featured on Chicago's Best so thought there was no WAY we could go wrong. Well, we did. My husband, myself and my two year old went around 5:30 on a Saturday evening. The place was pretty quiet, but plenty of staff around. Our service was HORRIBLE. Not one drink refill. The calamari appetizer was decent, but forgettable. Same with the thin crust cheese pizza that we ordered for my daughter. Decent, but forgettable. Our "Pizza in a Pan" which they are "famous" for came to the table luke warm at best. The toppings were reasonably fresh, but at a $1.75/topping, they should have been WAY more liberal with the toppings. Ridiculous to charge that much for just a few pieces of green pepper. The real disappointment (besides the temperature) was the crust was chewy in the middle and I'm not sure if it was even cooked through all the way though. There was another table near us who waited nearly an hour for their cold pizza as well. They complained and the idiot served (whom we shared) just said "oh sorry" and then agreed later to take it off their bill. I saw the server speaking with the manager minutes later (who was featured on Chicago's Best) and they were LAUGHING! If I were that manager, I would be pissed and trying to figure out where things went wrong. This is the Saturday night after Chicago's Best aired...AND it's Halloween weekend! They should've been on their A-GAME! The only good thing...they had a TON of beers on tap, but they weren't cheap either. With all of the amazing pizza in the area...I will NEVER go back.

Ok, I have to review this based on our family going there for dinner during the holiday season. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and were seated in a nearly empty dining room next to a table of twelve, eight who were screaming, unmanageable children aged 4-11. Their parents were too busy, or just didn't care that the kids were disturbing everyone! Now we have a four year old, and even he made a comment on what was going on. We requested a different table and were moved with no problem, except a snotty remark by one of the mothers at the other table. Once we resettled we ordered our dinner and while in a better spot still had to deal with these same kids running around. I still don't understand why the manager didn't say something. Our dinner arrived, we had apps., soup, burgers and pizza. The pizza is by far the best, burgers are ok. The sampler platter was a bit too greasy, and the grease was definitely old. The calamari, which I have had before, tasted a little old and rubbery, and I would definitely recommend a different dipping sauce. All in not the greatest experience, but for the pizza I will go back, and of course for the trivia on Tuesday nights!

Their food is okay, but the staff is terrible. The guy who helped us/took our order just couldn't get his crusts straight. My husband told him three times that we wanted the stuffed, but he insisted that my hubby said pan. We even had him repeat the order back to us to until he got it right, and they still screwed up the pizza... when we picked it up, it was a pan crust, not stuffed. We had never eaten here before, remember, so we didn't realize the mistake until we'd already started to eat the pizza. Anyways, the bottom of the crust was so hard I practically had to saw through it. The chicken was so salty that I just picked it off and tossed it. The rest of the pizza was so-so... kind of greasy, with way too much sauce. The crust on the edge of the pie was buttery and good, though, and tender on the inside. They're kind of expensive... for the same price, we could have gone to California Pizza Kitchen and gotten out-of-this world unique and delicious pizzas. Just not very impressive.

Awesome pan pizza! If you like Chicago-style pizza like Gino's East, you will like this place. Good lunch specials too. If you want a sandwich, try the grilled chicken wrap.

oh gullivers why!? thats my usual expression when my friends want to come here. this "revamped" bar from what was rivals has in my mind taken a huge turn for the worse. first off their "world famous pizza" i would just order a crappy 5 dollar pizza from little ceasrs and be much happier. but the thing that gripes me the most was how the rearanged this place...first off they took out all the pool tables...there was like 6 of them in the half of the bar hardly anyone uses. secondly they put the only pool table in their resturaunt and put it right on top of the dart board and golden tee...so if anyone wants to play any of these i suggest that you must not be claustrophobic. and the biggest gripe i have had was the fact that their beer lines must not be cleaned often enough because i ordered a guinness and it tasted like metal from a keg. im sorry no thanks. so if anyone orders a beer from there my best guess would be get something bottled. but on the plus side the patio...the only thing this place has...im not a smoker but anything that caters towards smokers gets you buisness and thats one thing they did right even though its fun watching people see the fake whicker plastic furniture...but for a sports bar id rather sit at home and enjoy myself

Watched the Super Bowl there tonight. Plenty of TV's. The pizza was very good, our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and everything was very clean. They passed out free cupcakes and held a free raffle and gave away prizes. Great time.

When I was in college in the '70's and lived in the north Suburbs, I went to Gulliver's on Howard Street many, many times and I believed it was the best pizza in the whole Chicago area. So when this one opened on Roosevelt Road, I couldn't wait to go. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! The pizza was NOTHING like the original, and it wasn't even good pizza. The crust was over cooked, there was hardly any cheese. They were out of their special beer, and they messed up my drink. Unfortunately, we won't be giving them a second chance.

i ordered a pizza and appetizzer after hearing great thing's about this pizzareria and pub.I found the pizza to be one of worst pizza'a I'v had in the suburb's recently. The sauce was tasteless the crust was dry and the cheese was almost none existend.I was very dissapointed,I also ordered potatoe skin;s that were also tastless.I don't know how a kitchen could make potatoe skin's taste bad its's only cheddar cheese and bacon w/scallion's a simple recipe that they could not excute,I threw them in the garbage, the were horrible.I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but I have no kind word's for one of my worst meal's ever
